Jean-Baptiste Aubert (piano, composition) was born in 1977 in a musical universe and has started by studying drums and classical piano. Teenager, he started performing live as a drummer in different jazz bands. Then he decided to focus on piano. He studied on his own the basics of jazz and improvisation before joining in 2000 the department of Jazz and Improvised Music at the Conservatoire National de Region (CNR) in Strasbourg. He developed his practice during four years with pianists such as Benjamin Moussay and Stephan Oliva or musicians such as Bernard Struber. Outside the trio, he also performs in differents improvised music bands. Since the creation of the trio in 2002, the band has gained in maturity and personality and has produced music that needs a regular confrontation with the public to evolve, to be enriched and to live. Their first album in trio "Diaphanie" is released in september 2010.

Their music is genuine and straightforward, always invented and elaborated by the three musicians according to the moods and the ambiances unique to each individual gig. Either simple tunes with dark lyricism or more joyful and dense pieces, Jean-Baptiste Aubert’s compositions enable the musicians to explore different soundscapes that always leave room to the unexpected. The trio play an intimate, expressive and melodic jazz which stresses playing together and improvising, tending to reach this thin balance between interaction and emotion.

 Jean-Baptiste Aubert (piano, composizione) è nato nel 1977 in un universo musicale, imparando a suonarela batteria ed il piano classico; adolescente, ha le prime esperienze sulla scena suonando la batteria in diversi gruppi jazz. Impara nel stesso tempo  il piano jazz come autodidatta prima di entrare nel 2000 al « Conservatoire National de Région » a Strasburgo, dove studia per quattro anni con pianisti come Stéphan OLIVA (stephanoliva.com) e Benjamin MOUSSAY e con il famoso musicista compositore Bernard Struber (www.jazztett.com). Oltre alla sua formazione in trio, il pianista suona anche in gruppi diversi, dal duo al sestetto, dal jazz classico al free jazz.

 Il trio propone un jazz melodico, espressivo e intimo che privilegia il suono collettivo e l’improvvisazione, cercando di raggiungere un equilibro tra interazione ed emozione. La musica del trio vuole essere autentica e rimanere una musica che si inventa in tre. Le composizioni del pianista, che spaziano dalle ballate sobrie e liriche a brani più liberi e festosi, permettono ai musicisti di esplorare universi sonori contrastanti che lasciano sempre posto all’imprevisto.

  Il trio è stato fondato tre anni fa da musicisti provenineti dall'est della Francia. Dalla creazione del trio in 2002, il gruppo ha raggiunto alti livelli di maturità e di identità proprie, con nuove composizioni che rinforzano il senso e l’unità del progetto. Il trio produce così una musica vivace che ha bisogno di conffrontarsi costantemente con il publico per evolversi e arrichirsi. Il primo album in trio "Diaphanie" è uscito in settembre 2010. Attualmente il trio suona regolarmente nella Francia dell'Est ed in Germania.
